I am going to classify this a client story because I have heard this scenario so many times. I have been doing estate and probate work since the 1990’s! When I first did probate work the California probate courts would update us on the status of cases by posting case information on a bulletin board at the courthouse… literally a board on the wall at the courthouse! Then, they advanced, and we started being able to dial up to a message board kind of thing. Yes, with a modem that made the funny noise! Ok, I am old I guess is my only point. Oh ya, and I have literally done multiple thousand California probate cases over these years.
One common sentiment, especially this time of year, is helping people who lost a loved one “during the holidays.” I have heard it said countless times “my mom died last year and it’s time to start the probate process.” Did this happen to you? Did you lose someone in November or December and just haven’t moved forward with the probate yet?
Did you lose mom, dad or another loved one last year? Perhaps Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanza, New Year’s, shopping, cooking, eating, family visiting, etc… took over your life. You were just too busy to deal with it. Plus, I am guessing, you probably were pretty sad! Heck, you just lost a loved one! Perhaps a parent who has been there for you for your entire life!? Now it’s the new year, it’s 2024, and it’s time to get back to everyday business.
We are really good at making the California probate process as simple as it possibly can be. This means filing the initial petition as quickly as possible, making sure it’s filed correctly, and keeping track of the case so we get things approved the first time through!
If you lost a loved one and need to get the probate process started please contact us and let’s get the California probate process started TODAY!
