Partners Lynn Sessions and Kimberly Gordy spoke on panels during the Healthcare Compliance Association 29th Annual Compliance Institute, April 28-May 1, 2025, in Las Vegas. Sessions discussed “What You Should Change Following the Change Healthcare Incident: Lessons Learned and Strategies to Consider,” including the breach impact caused by business associates and how best to protect organizations for first- and third-party security incidents, such as ransomware attacks. Gordy presented “The Cybersecurity Era (Compliance Officer’s Version): Bridging the Gap Between Compliance and IT to Create an Interdisciplinary Cybersecurity Program,” focusing on how to enhance an organization’s culture of compliance and remove silos between compliance and IT to provide more comprehensive training, third-party risk management and incident response preparedness.
